Imphal, November 09 2024: The 80th birth anniversary of Chingsubam Akaba cum 12th foundation day celebration of Pandam, an evening daily was held today at Shrine of Integrity Park in Wakha Leima Ching, Imphal East district.

The event organised by Luchingpurel Chingsubam Akaba Ningsing Lup (LUCANIL) began with the offering of floral tributes to the statues of social & cultural activist Chingsubam Akaba and Rungsung Suisha, leader of Tangkhul community.

Speaking on the occasion, LUCANIL trustee member Namoijam Tomba recalled the contributions made by Chingsubam Akaba towards reviving Meetei Mayek and the original Meetei religion.

He asserted that due the hard work and sacrifices made by the late activist, students can now pursue MA Manipuri in Meetei Mayek.

He also shared that Chingsubam Akaba was the founder president of Meetei Erol Eyek Loinasillol Apunba Lup (MEELAL) and editor of Pandam daily.

As part of the event, the annual calendar of Pandam for the year 2025 was also released.
