PREPAK to observe 'Athoubasinggi Ningsing Numit'

The proscribed People's Revolutionary Party of Kangleipak (PREPAK) would observe "Athoubasinggi Ningsing Numit" on November 12 in remembrance of its great leaders who were killed by security forces in separate incidents.
According to a statement issued by the Assistant Secretary of Publicity and Propaganda of PREPAK Leibakngakpa Luwang, November 12 is being observed as "Athoubasinggi Ningsing Numit" every year to pay tribute to the three revolutionary leaders of PREPAK and PLA who were killed in Kameng incident on November 12, 1978.Ayekpam Dhiren alias Angam of Sagolband Tera Loukrakpam Leikai and Phurailatpam Kabikanta alias Leimu alias Leingam Sharma of Sagolband Meino Leirak of PREPAK and Pukhrambam Gambhir of Singjamei Makha Naorem Leikai of PLA were killed by a combined force of Manipur Police led by SI Sunil Sharma and ASI Naorem Shyamjai and CRPF led by Commandant Narendrapal at a transit camp at Kameng.
In the following years on November 12, 1985, the Chairman of PREPAK RK Tullachandra was killed by a stray bullet shot by a personnel of Manipur Rifles at Kabowakching Sugar Mill.
PREPAK would pay tribute to the departed leaders on this day.
The outfit further appealed to all to avoid all forms of entertainment on November 12 and pay tribute to the leaders by lighting up candles.
