Kakching, April 09 2022:
Following government's invitation to hold talk, the indefinite bandh called along NH-102 (Imphal-Moreh) road in Sora area over the 44-Yaithibi Loukol land demarcation issue has been relaxed from Saturday afternoon till 6pm Sunday.
The indefinite bandh was called after the clash that broke out between police and local people during land demarcation at 44-Yaithibi Loukol for construction of a mega food park at the land already acquired by government since April 7 left several local people and police personnel injured.
A representative of local people imposing the bandh told media persons at Sora on Saturday that government has invited local leaders for dialogue regarding the ongoing tussle and bandh has been relaxed in public interest till 6pm Sunday.
The bandh will be resumed in coordination with civil society organisations working for preservation of paddy lands if the government fails to give positive response within 6pm Sunday, the representative said and urged government to follow the 'The Paddy and Wetland Conservation Act 2014' in its true spirit.
Meanwhile, All Manipur Muslim Organisations Coordinating Committee (AMMOCOC), Manipur Muslim Welfare Organisation (MMWO) and United Manipur Muslim Women's Development Organisation (UMMWDO) also met agitators at Sora on Saturday.
Additional DGP (Training and Law and Order) Clay Khongsai also inspected Yaithibi Loukol.
