RIMS secures 1st position in Eastern India

RIMS has been placed at the 28th position in a National ranking of the country's medical institutions.
Speaking to media persons at RIMS Jubilee Hall today, RIMS Director Prof A Santa said that Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD) declared results of the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) on April 3 and RIMS was placed in the 28th position.
Out of the 30 best medical institutions of Eastern India, RIMS was placed in the first position which means RIMS has surpassed Kolkata Medical College, Gauhati Medical College and Assam Medical College.
Moreover, RIMS has been placed above all AIIMS' of different cities except AIIMS Delhi, Prof Santa said.
Saying that this is the highest achievement in the history of RIMS, the Director gave credit to faculty members, officials, students and staff for the outstanding achievement.
RIMS Medical Superintendent Prof Ch Arunkumar said that the all India ranking known as NIRF was worked out by MHRD in association with the National Board of Accreditation and INFLIBNET based on five parameters namely teaching, learning and resources, research and professional practice, graduation outcomes, outreach and inclusivity and perception.
It is a matter of pride that RIMS has been placed in the 28th position among around 800 medical institutions in the country, Prof Arunkumar remarked.
NIRF was first introduced in 2015 and its expert committee comprises of experts drawn from MHRD, NBA, UGC, AICTE and other institutes, added the Medical Superintendent.
