PREPAK man involved in Tiddim blast held

Imphal, December 08 2012:
One PREPAK cadre, who was reportedly involved in triggering the bomb blast along Tidim road on November 12 that killed one civilian and injured another, has been arrested by a combined team of Imphal West Commandos and personnel of 18 Sikh under the supervision of Dr S Ibomcha Singh, Deputy SP, CDO Imphal West today.
Addressing media persons at Imphal West Commando Complex today, Dr S Ibomcha Singh, Deputy SP, CDO Imphal West said that based on specific intelligence inputs, the combined team the PREPAK cadre identified as Ningthoujam Chaoba alias Wangoo Chaoba Singh (37) s/o late N Angouba Singh of Leimaram Mayai Leikai was apprehended at around 2:30 pm today from Changangei near COMET School.
On preliminary investigation, the arrested cadre disclosed that he is an active member of PREPAK add used to transport arms and ammunition including IEDs under the command of one Laiyekpam Dinesh alias Sakhi,s/o late Inaocha of Tekcham Khunnou.
Furthermore, the arrested cadre disclosed that he was involved in planting of the bomb which exploded on November 12 at around 5:20 pm near the Bordin Workshop, Tiddim Road in which one civilian was killed while another sustained injuries.
From his disclosure, one IED, two sets of batteries, two electronic transistors, one mobile handset and one driving license have been seized from the house of one Moirangthem Iboyaima Singh of Leimaram Mamang Leikai.
The IED was meant to be used for attacking security forces along along Tidim Road within the next couple of days, the SP added.
