KSO, ANSAM condemn Addl SP's action

Imphal, April 08 2015 : Kuki Students' Organisation (KSO) General Headquarters and All Naga Students Association Manipur (ANSAM) on Wednesday condemned the "spiteful behaviour" of the Additional SP of Kangpokpi towards student leaders of Indira Gandhi National University (IGNTU) on April 6 as an "act of hostility" towards tribal community.

In a press note, KSO Information & Publicity Secretary Laxmon Kom said the Additional SP's "offensive remarks and behaviour" was unacceptable and the same will not be tolerated.

Asserting that the tribal students will not take this insult lying down, KSO expressed solidarity with IGNTU students and extended support to the union's demands which include the removal and suspension of the police officer.

If the government fails to remove and suspend the Additional SP in a week's time, the KSO and likeminded tribal student organizations will launch a general strike, warned KSO.
