Pact signed, Govt employees end stir

A memorandum of understanding (MoU) was signed between the state government and Manipur Government Services' Federation (MGSF)/Manipur Secretariat Services Association (MSSA)/ Manipur Secretariat Drivers' Association (MSDA) on Tuesday.
Following the agreement, MGSF, MSSA and MSDA have announced that that the cease-work strike has been called with immediate effect.
According to the MoU, a meeting with MFSF/MSSA/MSDA was held on Tuesday under the chairmanship of chief minister N Biren during which deputy CM Y Joykumar was also present.
The demands raised by the Federation/Associations were discussed in the presence of chief secretary, principal Secretary (GAD), special secretary (DP) and other officers.
After a detailed discussion, the government agreed to increase DA/DR of the government employees to 14 per cent from October 1, 2021 (7 pc increase), 17.5 pc from April 1, 2022 (3.5 pc increase), 21 pc from June 1, 2022 (3.5 pc increase) and 28 pc from December 1, 2022 (7 pc increase).
State government also concurred to form a committee to look into the matter for subsequent DA/DR increase and agreed to examine and decide on the various demands raised by MGSF, MSSA and MSDA in a time bound manner,
by March 2022 .
