Imphal, July 05 2019: Special Court Prevention of Corruption Imphal West, today, rejected the bail application filed by former Tengnoupal DC A Tombikanta and remanded him to judicial custody till July 19 in connection with the National Highway road expansion fund misappropriation case.

The Court also remanded retired BDO Md Nazimuddin, who was granted bail, to judicial custody for the same period after he failed to furnish his bail amount of Rs 1 lakh as well as surety.

A Tombikanta s/o of Moidangpok (presently staying at Lamphel Quarter) and Md Nazimuddin of Keikhu Mayai Leikai, were produced before the Court today, after the completion of police custody remand, along with a prayer for remanding them in further judicial custody for smooth investigation of the case regarding the misappropriation of funds amounting to Rs 2,39,95,578 for expansion of Imphal-Moreh road.
