Opposition parties prove themselves weak by forming alliance: Deputy Chief Minister

The Opposition Parties in the State were thought to be strong but their coming together to form an alliance has revealed their weaknesses; Deputy Chief Minister Gaikhangam has stated during a state level political conference held at Congress Bhavan here today.
He further stated that the Opposition Parties are criticizing the Congress Party rather being responsible in monitoring and expediting various projects and schemes meant for the welfare of common people.
The Congress Party welcomes the formation of an alliance of Opposition Parties in the State, but it has no time to get involved in petty debates with them, Gaikhangam averred.
Chief Minister Okram Ibobi, who was also present on the occasion, maintained that the Congress Party has been working dedicatedly for the welfare of the people.
Several projects and schemes such as MGNREGS, SSA, RMSA and NHRM have been implemented to uplift the socioeconomic conditions of the common people.
The Party is concerned with the development of the country and it needs support of the common people, he exhorted.
General Secretary of AICC, in-charge of Manipur, Luzinho Faleiro stated that Manipur is known for its arts and culture and excellence in sports.
The State has witnessed rapid development in the last few years under the able rule of Congress Party.
He also appealed to the people to cast their valuable votes for Congress Party in the coming Lok Sabha Election and help in bringing all round development from the grassroots level.
The political conference was also attended by Ministers, MPs, MLAs and other top functionaries of the Congress Party.
General Secretary of AICC Faleiro also unveiled a newly installed statue of Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru at Congress Bhavan on the occasion.
