Saikul, March 05 2014 :
Kuki National Front-Nehlun (KNF-N) has washed-off its hand in the abduction of the two labourers of the Guwahati based construction agency ABCI Infrastructure Private Limited on March 2 from Ukhrul district of Manipur by six masked men.
According to KNF-N, though the outfit is not in the Suspension of Operation (SoO) with the Government, but it will never carry out such abductions at all.
According to the KNF-N, the outfit is against any national or state project to be taken up in Kuki areas in case the construction agencies failed to assure the people that they will execute works with dedication for the welfare of the people.
The Kuki outfit further said in the event of any work agency not meeting the condition put forth, the outfit will first highlight the situation through the media.
Meanwhile, KNF-N said that the outfit has somehow managed to get two cell phone numbers of the abductors of the two labourers.
"Certain quarters had provided us two Aitel phone numbers.
We contacted the abductors through those two numbers (8414874591 & 8119994660) and realised that the receiver of our call spoke in Manipuri with Tangkhul accent," claimed the KNF-N. According to KNF-N, these two phone numbers were passed on by the abductors to the concerned party for negotiation "but somehow we managed to get the phone numbers" .
KNF-N then said it is for communal harmony.
