AR extends assistance to widows, JJ Children Home and Rehab Centre in Moreh

Imphal, December 04 2020:
Troops of Assam Rifles distributed relief material to the Below Poverty Line (BPL) widows in Moreh town and adjoining villages today.
Further rice was also provided to the JJ Children Home and Adulum Rehabilitation Centre at Moreh.
Bulk of the population of Moreh is financially dependent on move of goods from across Indo Myanmar border under Free Movement (FMR) regime, however, due to the suspension of FMR for the last eight months, the means of earning for these people have been reduced drastically causing financial hardship, said a statement of IGAR.
The contribution by Assam Rifles was an attempt to further supplement the efforts of the Government under Garib Kalyan Yojna, it said.
Assam Rifles also distributed masks to the participants and urged them to strictly follow the anti-COVID 19 guidelines to fight against the deadly virus.
All the beneficiaries and community leaders expressed their heartfelt gratitude towards the Assam Rifles for the noble cause during the challenging times, the statement continued.
