Laija Studio inaugurated

A film studio christened as "Laija Studio" was inaugurated during foundation day celebration of Laija Film Production at Lalambung Makhong Haorongbam Leikai, here, today.
Speaking as chief guest of the event, UCM president Sunil Karam stressed the rising needs to produce quality films based on the current situation of Manipur in a bid to conceive a sense of patriotism among denizens of various communities that are inhabiting the State.
He said that unity is a matter of utmost importance to protect the territorial integrity and sovereignty of the State.
He stressed the necessity of establishing a good film production company to produce indigenous films which can promote the identity of Manipur on global stage.
AMSU HQ former general secretary, Chungsat Khongsai also extended his wishes to the members of the studio.
Urging the film makers of the State to stop the trends of copying Bollywood ideas, renowned Manipuri film director Epu exuded confidence that the culture of Manipur will be loved globally if properly filmed.
Film actor, Gurumayum Bony Sharma, Laija Films Production manager, Kiran Koijam and Kangjam Thambou also attended the function.
