Imphal, April 04 2013:
Referring to the allegation that two girls have abducted from their school boarding, the proscribed RPF has clarified that Alice Kamei (16) d/o Chakri Tombi Kamei of Nambol Isok Chingphu Kabui Khul and Khaidem Sanahanbi Chanu (16) d/o Syam Meitei of Upokpi, Bishnupur were brought to a camp of the party on March 13 this year on their request to join RPF's liberation movement.
Till date, RPF has never misled or forced anyone to join the revolutionary movement against their will, the outfit-asserted in a press release issued by its Department of Publicity Chief Bangkim.
What RPF needs is only those genuine patriots and it is against the party's rules to enrol somebody into the party if they are not willing enough.
RPF has its own recruitment policy and no one can be recruited in the party in violation of these rules.
If any person has reached 16 years of age and they are willing to join the revolutionary movement, they have the right to join RPF and its liberation movement, it said.
RPF is well aware of the international rule that prohibits recruitment of persons below 18 years of age as soldiers.
Yet, RPF in view of the prevailing situation in Manipur, resolved that any person who has reached 16 years of age should be allowed to join the revolutionary movement if they wish.
It is natural for parents to be worried when their children choose a risky, path and this is known to the party.
However, to wage the liberation movement until its logical end is one foremost conviction of RPF.
That was why people who came to join the movement on their volition were welcomed into the party.
Just as every people has the right to join the movement, they have the right to retire from the party.
To RPF, Alice and Sanahanbi are old enough to join the party for they have reached 16 years of age.
Stating that the two girls are safe in a camp, the outfit conveyed as of now there is no question of handing over the two girls to their parents for they are keen to join the revolutionary movement.
It is not advisable for people or organisations to form JACs or stage protest demonstrations when RPF recruited cadres in full compliance with its recruitment rules.
People may just look to the past and see that RPF never did anything against the interest of people.
RPF is for the mass and its primary duty is to fight against the adversary forces till Manipur is liberated, it asserted.
Rather than shouting blandly that RPF has abducted people/girls, all the people ought to come forward and shoulder their due responsibility in the liberation movement.
"No foreign people would come to save the indigenous people of Manipur.
It is the indigenous people of Manipur who must save themselves", it added.
