BJP eyes on securing both LS seats

The recent meeting of Election Management Committee of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), which was held at Guwahati from August 1 to 2, resolved to set up candidates in both parliamentary constituencies of the State in the coming Lok Sabha Election scheduled early next year.
According to sources close to BJP, the meeting also resolved to set up candidates in all 14 constituencies of Assam and two constituencies of Arunachal Pradesh.
Earlier, Manipur, Assam and Arunachal Pradesh were elevated to Category-A of BJP Election Campaign.
President of BJP Manipur Pradesh Thounaojam Chaoba and General Secretary Sh Premananda participated in the meeting of Election Management Committee, which was chaired by National Vice-President SS Aluwalia.
The State leaders have arrived at Imphal and they briefed the party workers about the meeting.
Notably, the meeting mooted Narendra Modi as the Prime Ministerial candidate of BJP in the coming Lok Sabha Election.
The Party is expected to make a formal announcement in this regard in September, the source said.
A 10-member committee of BJP national leaders would conduct massive election campaigns in the northeast.
The High Command of BJP has instructed all state units to form manifesto committees as well as booth level committees within a short time.
Meanwhile, the BJP candidates in the State are yet to be finalized.
However, there has been some sort of agreement within the Party members to set up Prof Gangmumei Kamei from Outer Manipur Parliamentary Constituency.
On the other hand, the candidate for Inner Manipur Parliamentary Constituency could not still be ascertained.
