Fresh cases, TPR, test capacity drop

Imphal, February 03 2022:
The state witnessed a dip in fresh positive cases of Covid-19, daily test positivity rate as well as daily test capacity on Thursday as government bulletins reported 262 fresh cases out of 1859 samples tested in the last 24 hours, registering a positivity rate of 14.09 per cent against 15.22 per cent recorded on Wednesday.
Wednesday also reported one death case which took the number of toll to 2054 .
The victim was an unvaccinated resident of Kakching district.
In the last 24 hours, 228 patients were discharged from ht me isolation (159), RIMS (7), JNIMS (20) and CCCs (42).The active caseload rose to 3976 out of which 1244 (31.29 per cent) are in home isolation.
There are 222 vacant beds available in JNIMS and 149 in RIMS but there is no updated information on bed availability in Covid Care Centres.
Out of the 16 districts, only two did not reported any fresh Covid cases on Thursday.
So far, the state has recorded 8379 positive cases and 52 fatalities since the beginning of the third wave of the pandemic.
The current month has reported 911 new positive cases and 8 fatalities.
The weekly number of new cases and new fatalities are 2463 and 18 respectively.
According to official reports, 261 people (125 male & 136 female) out of the 262 fresh cases are from among the general population and 1 is a Central Armed Police Force (CAPF) jawan whose samples were confirmed at RIMS (8), JNIMS (25) and other testing centres (229) .
The positive cases from among the general population are from Imphal East (47), Imphal West (98), Thoubal (21), Bishnupur (21), Kakching (14), Kamjong (4), Kangpokpi (9), Tamenglong (4), Tengnoupal (3), Ukhrul (6), Noney (1), Senapati (6), Chandel (13) and Churachandpur (14).The cumulative number of positive cases has reached 1,34,167 (general population -1,29,200 and CAPF personnel - 4,967) .
Number of recovered cases is 1,28,137 (general population - 1,23,339 and CAPF personnel - 4,798) and number of active cases is 3976 (general population - 3814 and CAPF personnel - 162).The recovery rate is 95.51 per cent.
A total of 246 D-type and 96 B-type Oxygen cylinders have been made available to different health facilities in the last 24 hours.
Whereas, 10772 vaccine doses were administered on Wednesday and the cumulative number of vaccinated individuals has reached 14,40,010, out of which 10,57,266 have received second doses and 34,169 have been given precautionary doses.
As per data maintained by The People's Chronicle based on IDSP and CCR reports, number of total cases in different districts are Imphal West (47683), Imphal East (29756), Thou-bal (9934), Churachandpur (10901), Kangpokpi (3064), Tamenglong (3399), Bishnupur (9592), Senapati (2417), Ukhrul (3155), Kakching (6732), Chandel (2640), Noney (1130), Tengnoupal (1167), Jiribam (1108), Kamjong (1024), and Pherzawl (465) .
Fatality counts in different districts are Imphal West (689), Imphal East (492), Thoubal (180), Churachandpur (166), Kangpokpi (65), Tamenglong (15), Bishnupur (198), Senapati (11), Ukhrul (48), Kakching (118), Chandel (42), Noney (4), Tengnoupal (14), Jiribam (7), Kamjong (5), and Pherzawl (0) .
Data analysed by this daily shows that the rate of infection remains 43,238 confirmed cases per million population (based on projected population of 31,03,000 as per NCP report) against the national average of 29,827 CPM.
Test rate has improved to 4,94,297 tests per million population against the national average of 5,23,850 TPM.
Case fatality rate stands at 1.53 per cent.
In the past 24 hours, only 1859 samples were tested and the single day positivity rate was 14.09 per cent while the cumulative positivity rose to 8.75 per cent.
