Public meeting held

National Sports University Haraothen Protection Committee (NSUHPC) organised a public meeting at Senjam Chirang today and adopted various resolutions in connection with the decision to divert some course of the Sports University to other campuses of the varsity.
Speaking to media persons at Manipur Press Club today, NSUHPC working chairman I Ranjan Singh said that during the meeting the people resolved that they would oppose any attempt to open off campuses or on-line university/programme at any other place of the country until and unless NSU becomes a full fledged university.
The committee also urged the State Government as well as the MPs to pressure the Central Government to prohibit UP Government from conducting a walk in interview on June 11.He mentioned that in connection with the issue, NSUHPC representatives will go to Delhi and meet the Prime Minister and the Sports Minister and submit memos as well.
Ranjan further explained that the meeting urged all the political parties and the leaders to pressure the Central Government to pass the NSU Bill and turn it into an Act in the coming monsoon Parliament session of the Lok Sabha.
On the other hand, the meeting also demanded the Government to repair and improve the Senjam Chirang road at the earliest.
