MSSLC appeals KCP (Maoist) to lift ban

The Manipur State Shumang Leela Council (MSSLC) and All Manipur Matam Ishei Kanglup (AMMIK) has appealed to KCP (Maoist) to lift the ban imposed on performance of all entertainment programmes in other places except in Cinema Halls, BOAT and Iboyaima Shumang Leela Shanglen.
Addressing media persons at Iboyaima Shumang Leela Shanglen today, B Netachandra Sharma, Secretary of Apunba Manipur Matam Ishei Kanglup (AMMIK), said that AMMIK and MSSLC respect the UG group.
Considering the situation of the state, AMMIK and MSSLC, have also put in place various restrictions in the performance of Shumang Leela and concerts including performance during the time of the commencement of Class X and XII exams in the state.
So the KCP (Maoist) is requested to lift the ban on performance of Shumang Leela and concerts in other places except in Cinema Halls, BOAT and Iboyaima Shumang Leela Shanglen in view of the upcoming State Assembly election, on humanitarian ground.
Meanwhile, a joint meeting of AMMIK and MSSLC held yesterday in the light of by KCP(Maoist)'s restrictions had adopted various resolutions including declining all invitations for performance of Leela and Concerts in connection with the 10th State Assembly election, to appeal for lifting of the ban in the interest of the artistes who live from earning in Shumang Leela performance and to take into confidence of the Apex Body (AMMIK and MSSLC) in case any sort of ban is to be imposed.
