EGM to organise debate of candidates contesting Lok Sabha elections

Editors' Guild Manipur (EGM), is organising debate/discussion/Q&A sessions of the candidates of Manipur Outer and Inner Parliamentary Constituencies on April 4 (Outer) and April 8 (Inner) in connection with the upcoming Lok Sabha elections 2019 .
The programme "Know your MP candidates" will be participated by various stake holders from various walks of life and eminent personalities.
Stake holders' table will include senior citizens, lawyers, intellectuals/academicians, journalists, entrepreneur, people from trade and commerce, Government employee unions, CSOs, Film and entertainment industry, social activists like Human Rights/Consumer forum/tribal rights, women groups etc, said a statement of Yumnam Rupachandra, secretary general EGM today.
The debate will be held at Hotel Grande from 1 pm onwards and will be telecast live on major cable networks and covered widely in State newspapers.
The purpose of this debate/discussion/Q&A is to enable the people of Manipur to choose a perfect representative who will represent Manipur at the Parliament.
As Manipur has only 2 representatives, EGM feels that people must choose representatives who will be dynamic, accountable, clean, socially responsible, qualified, visionary and above all have Manipur in his or her heart, said EGM.
The debate will help people make an informed choice, added EGM.
To encourage the media, best reportage prize will also be given to reporters and editor of the paper, it said and invited all candidates, stake holders to participate in the debate.
