State logs 14 fresh cases, zero death

Imphal, December 29 2021:
The state on Wednesday reported 14 new positive cases of Covid-19 out of 1291 samples tested, registering a positivity rate of 1.08 per cent which is marginally higher than the 1.06 per cent recorded on Tuesday.
No new death case was reported on Wednesday and the number of fatalities stands at 2002 .
In all 9 patients were discharged from home isolation (2), JNIMS (6) and CCCs (1) in the last 24 hours while the active caseload rose to 185 out of which 17 (9.19 per cent) are in home isolation.
There is no updated information on bed availabilities in hospitals and Covid Care Centres.
Out of the 16 districts, seven reported fresh Covid cases on Wednesday.
So far, the state has recorded 96,361 positive cases and 1628 fatalities since the beginning of the second wave of the pandemic.
The current month has reported 556 new positive cases and 25 fatalities out of which 92 new cases and 4 fatalities were added in the last seven days alone.
According to official reports, all the 14 fresh cases (8 male & 6 female) belong to the general population and their samples were confirmed at JNIMS (4) and other testing centres (10).The positive cases are from Imphal East (1), Imphal West (6), Thoubal (2), Bishnupur (2), Kakching (1), Tengnoupal (1) and Ukhrul (1) .
The cumulative number of positive cases has reached 1,25,761 (general population - 1,21,325 and CAPF personnel - 4,436).Number of recovered cases is 1,23,574 (general population - 1,19,146 and CAPF personnel - 4,428) and number of active cases is 185 (general population - 182 and CAPF personnel - 3).The recovery rate is 98.26 per cent.
A total of 310 D-type and 98 B-type Oxygen cylinders have been made available to different health facilities in the last 24 hours.
Meanwhile, 3621 vaccine doses were administered on Tuesday and it took the cumulative number of vaccinated people to 13,21,726 out of which 9,83,438 have been fully vaccinated.
As per data maintained by The People's Chronicle based on IDSP and CCR reports, number of total cases in different districts are Imphal West (44,147), Imphal East (27,945), Thoubal (9494), Churachandpur (10,192), Kangpokpi (2793), Tamenglong (3284), Bishnupur (9240), Senapati (2249), Ukhrul (3000), Kakching (6452), Chandel (2367), Noney (1076), Tengnoupal (1078), Jiribam (1025), Kamjong (955) and Pherzawl (464) .
Fatality counts in different districts are Imphal West (672), Imphal East (479), Thoubal (179), Churachandpur (163), Kangpokpi (62), Tamenglong (14), Bishnupur (194), Senapati (10), Ukhrul (44), Kakching (115), Chandel (41), Noney (4), Tengnoupal (13), Jiribam (7), Kamjong (5) and Pherzawl (0) .
Data analysed by this daily shows that the rate of infection remains 40,529 confirmed cases per million population (based on projected population of 31,03,000 as per NCP report) against the national average of 24,860 CPM.
Test rate has improved to 4,70,075 tests per million population against the national average of 4,82,250 TPM.
Case fatality rate stands at 1.59 per cent.
In the past 24 hours, only 1291 samples were tested and the single day positivity rate was 1.08 per cent per cent while the cumulative positivity came down to 8.62 per cent.
