GOC 3 Corps visits Manipur

Imphal, June 29 2012: Lieutenant General AK Sahani, General Officer Commanding 3 Corps after taking over command of 3 Corps, arrived at Leimakong on June 28, on a two days maiden visit to Manipur.

The GOC was received by Major General Binoy Poonnen, GOC Red Shield Division and briefed on various emerging security/insurgency related issues.

The GOC also visited IGAR (South) today where he was received by Major General UK Gurung, IGAR (South) at Mantripukhri.The GOC was briefed by IGAR (S) on the prevailing security situation in Manipur.

He alongwith the IGAR (South) and GOC Red Shield Division called on His Excellency Gurubachan Jagat, Governor of Manipur and Okram Ibobi, Hon'ble Chief Minister of Manipur later today.

They discussed security environment of the State.

The GOC 3 Corps lauded the efforts of the soldiers in the state and asked them to continue with the good work in a professional manner, according to a press release of PRO IGAR (S) .
