Pots and utensils thrown at Minister Okendro's quarters

Imphal, July 28 2014 : Demanding release of the labourers of the Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution who have been arrested for launching agitation in connection their demand for increasing wages, their aggrieved family members today threw pots and other kitchen utensils at the official residence of Minister M Okendro at Sanjenthong here.

At around 9 am, the aggrieved family members of the arrested labourers came in two Diesel autorickshaws and one Tata Magic van to meet the Minister.

However, they were stopped by the police and the escort party of the VIP in front of the Officers' Colony.

In spite of that, the aggrieved family members forced their way.

But just before reaching the quarter of the Minister, they were stopped again.

At that point of them, the aggrieved family members took out whatever pots and other kitchen utensils they brought from home and threw towards the quarter of the Minister.

They also shouted slogans demanding release of the arrested labourers and hiking the wages in tune with the changing time.
