Imphal, June 28 2013 : Decrying the grenade attack at the rented house of Ningthoujam Priyosakhi of Uripok Tourangbam Leikai yesterday that claimed lives of two non-local migrant workers while injuring four others including a local resident, members of Uripok Tourangbam Leikai Welfare Organization and Uripok Tourangbam Leikai Women's Welfare Organization jointly staged a sit-in-protest at Uripok Tourangbam Leikai here today.

One of the women protesters told media persons that the locals of Uripok Tourangbam Leikai strongly condemned the killing and injuring innocent people in the grenade attack.

She demanded the organization involved in the attack to make a clarification as soon as possible and stop such barbaric acts in the future.

Meanwhile, post-mortems of the deceased Rohitkumar Das and Ranjan Mahatto were conducted at RIMS Mortuary today.

Later, the dead bodies were handed over to their respective family members and their last rites performed at the crematorium located at Minuthong.

One of the injured persons Ayekpam Frankie has been discharged from the hospital, while other two injured persons Bijoy Kumar and Surendra Das are still undergoing treatment at Shija Hospital, Langol.
