Road Safety Week commences in Thoubal district

Thoubal, April 28 2018: In view of Road Safety Week campaign under the theme 'Sadak Suraksha Jeevan Raksha' which started from April 23 , district administration Thoubal, District Transport Office Thoubal and District Police Thoubal also organised the campaign at Thoubal Mellaground Lamkhai today.

Participated by a number of students, Deputy Commissioner Thoubal H Rosita and SP Thoubal S Gautam attended the programme as dignitaries.

Thoubal district police distributed traffic stickers to drivers and passers-by as part of the event.

Deputy Commissioner Thoubal, Haobam Rosita stated that the department concerned will conduct traffic drives at various areas of the district to inspect if drivers follow the rule and regulations of traffic.

She urged the parents not to let their underage children to drive vehicles and further appealed all to carry necessary documents and strictly follow traffic rules to avoid possible mishaps.

SP Thoubal S Gautam stressed on the need to thoroughly aware the children as well as eligible individuals about traffic rule and regulations.

He further appealed the two-wheeler drivers to wear helmet and take precautions whenever driving.
