Senior IAS officer K Moses Chalai appointed as new NEC Secretary, to succeed Ram Muivah

New Delhi, October 27 2019: Senior IAS officer from Manipur and former Senapati DC, K Moses Chalai (IAS) has been appointed as the Secretary to the prestigious North East Council (NEC) under Ministry of DONER.

He will succeed another Manipur cadre senior IAS officer Ram Muivah.

An order issued on October 23 by Department of Personnel and Training under Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions, 17 senior IAS officers were appointed in different departments by Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC).

He will enjoy the rank and pay of Additional Secretary during his tenure as NEC Secretary.

Moses Chalai, a Manipur cadre of 1990 IAS batch is originally from Chowainamai Khunou village under Mao-Maram sub-division in Senapati District and was posted on deputation as Additional Secretary in Ministry of Women and Child Development before his posting to NEC.

Before his deputation to Delhi, the IAS officer had served in the capacity of Principal Secretary and Commissioner in different departments like Social Welfare, Higher Education and Health for GoM.
