Eviction notice served to encroachers at Langol Reserved Forest land

Imphal, October 27 2018: Divisional Forest Officer, Central Forest Division, Imphal has notified the encroachers at Langol Reserved Forest land to evacuate themselves on or before November 22.If the encroachers fail to evacuate by the given date (November 22), they (all constructions/deposits) will be removed/evicted from the reserved land without any further intimation.

Legal actions will be taken up against them as per existing law/ rules, said the order of the Divisional Forest Officer.

The order dated October 22 was served under Rule No 81 of the Manipur Forest Rules, 1971 .

In the event of non-acceptability of the order, appeals shall be made to Chief Conservator of Forest within 30 days as per Rule No 81(5) of the Manipur Forest Rule, 1971, said the order.
