MPCC begins poll discussion

Manipur Pradesh Congress Committee (MPCC) has begun discussion on the coming Lok Sabha Election scheduled to be held in early part of next year.
According to a reliable source, top functionaries of MPCC are engaged in serious discussions to chalk out strategies for the Lok Sabha polls.
The Party firmly expects securing both the Parliamentary seats of the State.
President of MPCC Gaikhangam is also in New Delhi attending a top level meeting of All India Congress Committee (AICC) for the coming Lok Sabha Election.
He had reportedly informed the AICC about the performance of MPCC during the meeting.
As of now, the Congress candidates for Manipur are yet to be finalized.
It is still not confirmed whether the sitting MPs Dr T Meinya and Thangso Baite would be fielded again in the coming Lok Sabha election or not.
Congress Party has been following the tradition of obeying decisions of high command.
The party workers in all districts have been made ready for the polls even though the list of candidates is not finalized by AICC, the source said.
Meanwhile, the AICC meeting of all State Presidents is also deliberating on the issue of National Food Security Bill, which is being planned to be enforced as an ordinance in Congress-ruled States within these few months.
