Kpi AC MLA reaches out to poor COVID-19 patients, wins hearts

At a time when most people stayed indoors in fear of the increasing number of COVID-19 infection in the second wave, Kangpokpi Assembly Constituency MLA, Nemcha Kipgen has become an epitome of humanity by reaching out to poor COVID-19 patients under Home Isolation through the COVID Task Force Kangpokpi today.
In a bid to ensure that no one goes hungry while combating the dreaded coronavirus, the MLA entrusted the COVID Task Force of her constituency to identify daily wage earners among the positive patients in their respective jurisdiction and assured to provide rice and other food items to ease their suffering.
The local MLA reached out to few daily wage earners among the COVID patients in Kangpokpi town and provided a bag of rice and dal each through the COVID Task Force Kangpokpi.
Nemcha Kipgen said, "Among the COVID patients, daily wage earners are the most affected people, but I will not let anybody go hungry while combating the dreaded virus".
The MLA exhorted that all the positive patients either at home isolation or COVE) Care Centre should not worry for their fooding and urged them to stay mentally strong in the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic.
She appealed to the people to not discriminate the COVID patients and their families and cautioned that anyone found indulging in discrimination would be reported to the concerned authority for appropriate action.
Nemcha Kipgen further urged the people to come forward to extend all possible assistance to the COVID patients and their families through the COVID Task Force of their respective areas and villages.
COVID Task Force Kangpokpi president, Haolet Khongsai stated that as instructed by the local MLA, the Task Force have identified daily wage earners among the COVID patients within their jurisdiction and handed over the items.
He mentioned that three more COVID-19 positive cases were detected in Kangpokpi town today and their residence has been sealed by the task force in association with Kangpokpi police.
Haolet Khongsai further stated that home delivery service by women vegetable sellers within the containment zone have been restricted with immediate effect and any vegetable seller found defying the restriction would be put under home isolation inside the containment zone.
The COVID Task Force Kangpokpi also cautioned the people of Kangpokpi town to not loiter outside their home except for emergency cases.
