Traditional boat rally held at Loktak

Bishnupur, March 27 2021:
The District Level Nasha Mukt Bharat Campaign Committee Bishnupur under District Administration Bishnupur organised a 'Traditional Boat Rally' on the theme 'Impact of Alcoholism and Substance Abuse' at Loktak lake, today.
The rally went from Thanga Houreng Chingyang Pandom to Karang island.
It was participated by local fishermans, clubs, Meira Paibis, District Administration staff, Childline Bishnupur members and District Nasha Mukt Bharat Campaign Committee's master trainers, trained volunteers, master volunteers and programme manager.
Placards including 'We promised a zero down drug zone', 'A free tourism spot from psychoactive substance use', 'Promote a healthy fishing community from drugs', 'Save Loktak Save Life', etc were raised during the rally.
Later, a public meeting was also held at Karang Mange Makhong with Childline Bishnupur, Director, Dr L Pishak; Karang Island Development Organisation (KIDO), vice president, Ningthoujam Indrakumar and secretary, Soibam Kanta as presidium members.
Addressing the programme, Dr L Pishak stated that the event was organised to generate awareness against drug addiction and substance abuse in the State.
Likewise, as a part of the Nasha Mukt Bharat Campaign, the District Level Nasha Mukt Bharat Campaign Committee Bishnupur also conducted a cycle rally on the theme 'No to drugs Yes to life' from Nambol Police station to KLASA Keinou ground.
