CPI observes foundation day

The 96th foundation day of Communist Party of India was celebrated today at Irawat Memorial Park, Lamlai under the aegis of CPI Manipur State Council.
The foundation day celebration was attended by CPI National Executive Member Dr M Nara, State Secretary L Sotinkumar, State Secretariat Member Athokpam Lala and Assistant Secretary M Jaikumar as presidium members, said a statement released by CPI MSC.
Dr Nara urged everyone to extend help in strengthening the party by defeating the politicians who frequently shift allegiance, said the statement.
Speaking at the programme, L Sotinkumar said the introduction of communist movement in Manipur by Irawat led to the realisation of the State called Manipur and that CPI was founded by the communist patriots who fought in the freedom struggle in 1925 at Kanpur and it was time CPI take up the fight for farmers and labours more seriously than ever, added the statement released by CPI MSC.
