Bomb blasts leave four injured

Imphal, October 26 2012:
Two bomb blasts at different places today left four persons injured.
The first bomb blast which took place at a spot between Wangjing and Khongjom along National Highway 37 at around 8.45 am was without any casualty while the second blast at Collection Centre of Babina Diagnosis, opposite JNIMS Hospital's main gate occurred at 5.15 pm leaving four persons injured, including two women.
The injured have been identified as Wahengbam Rameshori (25) d/o Tiken of Wabagai; Sapam Dipu(28) s/o Modhusudon of Sega Road, Keishampat; Joyshree (28) d/o Kamini of Khurai Thangjam Leikai; and Yumnam Romeo (31) s/o Ashok Kumar of Singjamei Mayengbam Leikai.
Sapam Dipu who sustained multiple injuries from splinters has been referred to Shija hospital and is said to be in a critical condition while the other three are said to be out of danger.

A team of police led by SP Angam, Additional SP Rajen and other police officers of Porompat Police Station rushed to the spot and investigated the site.
Further, SSP of Imphal East came to JNIM Hospital and inspected the blast victims.
The first blast was triggered at 8.45 am when an IED went off in between Wangjing and Khongjom along National Highway 37 just as Assam Rifles convoy passed some 100 meters away from the site.
There is no report of any casualty.
Police suspected that the IED was aimed at the convoy.
