Ukhrul ADC Member takes stock of Chingai High School

Ukhrul, March 26 2018: Member of Ukhrul District Autonomous District Council (UADC), RS Ngaranchui inspected Chingai Government High School on his visit to block headquarters.

He expressed dissatisfaction on seeing the pathetic condition and the insufficient teaching staff of the school. The school head master, David highlighted the major problem of the school including shortage of facilities, infrastructure while stating that due to inadequate benches and desks, three students appearing for the recently concluded HSLC exam at Chingai Private Centre were adjusted to sit in one bench, which is against the examination rule and regulation.

He further mentioned that the Education Department recognized the Private Centre in 2016, however, no initiative has been taken up till date.

Nine schools under Chingai Block (Frontier High School, Kharasom High School, Paocham High School, Paoyi High School, Kalhang Kuirei High School, Christ King High School, Chingjaroi High School and Chingai High School) of Northern Ukhrul are accommodated here in the Centre, reports our correspondent.

The visiting Councilor interacted with the villagers and teachers, in which they expressed that their children were shifted to other schools in the district headquarter as their is acute shortage of teachers for many years.

RS Ngaranchui, after hearing all the problems assured to address the matter to the authority concerned for immediate intervention and also pressurise Education Department to provide insufficient school infrastructure and facilities at earliest.
