Imphal, November 25 2019:
All Tribal Students' Union Manipur (ATSUM) has warned to launch agitations against JNIMS if the institute fails to implement the "agreed terms" reached between the State Government and ATSUM regarding recruitment of staff in JNIMS.
A press release issued by president and general secretary of ATSUM stated that an agreement was brought between the State Government and ATSUM in a meeting held at CM's conference hall on August 13 wherein JNIMS was asked to provide a detailed information regarding the backlog vacancy in all grades, within one month, and to initiate special recruitment drive for ST within two months.
JNIMS, contrary to the agreed terms, notified a recruitment drive in the local dailies inviting applications for 101 sweepers, it stated.
It further warned that ATSUM will resort to any form of agitation if the institute fails to comply to all the agreement reached on August 13 and continue the process of recruitment without implementing the demands.
