AR holds interaction/lecture prog, security meet

Imphal, July 25 2022:
A team of Loktak
Battalion Assam Rifles
of IGAR (S) organised an
interaction programme
with meira paibi of Moirang, Thanga and Karang
villages in Bishnupur district on Monday to develop
a sense of security towards
the area of responsibility
for the upcoming Independence Day celebration.
They
were also assured of any
assistance during the interaction, said a PRO IGAR
(S) release, adding that the
meira paibi members took
keen interest and extended
their full cooperation and
support to the Assam Rifles.
The Battalion also organised a security and coordination meet at Ningthiching TOB in Bishnupur
district on Monday which
had healthy participation
of village representatives
including village authorities and youth.
The meet
provided the platform to
discuss and inform the villagers about the current
political climate and need to
uphold the security within
the region, the PRO said,
adding that various career opportunities for the
students in defence forces and in sports were also
discussed.
Meanwhile, Khoupum
Battalion of IGAR (South)
conducted awareness lecture
on importance of rain water
harvesting at Pinjang and L
Khunou in Noney district
and Radhanagar of Unakoti
district, Tripura on Sunday.
The local populace was
briefed about the importance of rain water harvesting along with the procedure for effective rain water
harvesting during the event,
informed the PRO in another
release.
The interactive lecture
saw an enthusiastic participation where several
queries raised by the attendees about the subject
were answered.
They were also encouraged to take up effective
measures towards building
a sustainable living environment, the release added.
