TPR dips; 39 new cases, two deaths reported

The daily test positivity rate of Covid-19 continues to fall for the last three consecutive days with the government bulletins on Wednesday reporting 39 new positive cases out of 1888 samples tested, thus registering a positivity rate of 2.07 per cent against 2.33 per cent recorded on Tuesday.
Meanwhile, Wednesday also reported two death cases and it took the total number of fatalities to 1965.They were residents of Imphal West and Bishnupur districts, and both were unvaccinated.
The active caseload further rose to 698 out of which only 43 (6.16 per cent) are in home isolation.
There is no updated information on bed availability in different hospitals and Covid care facilities.
Out of the 16 districts, only six reported fresh Covid cases on Wednesday with Imphal West logging highest number of infections at 20.In terms of positivity rate, Imphal East district recorded highest single day positivity rate at 5.7 per cent while Churachandpur district recorded lowest positivity rate at 0.7 per cent.
Chandel, Jiribam, Kamjong, Kangpokpi, Noney, Pherzawl, Senapati, Tamenglong, Tengnoupal and Thoubal districts did not report any new positive cases.
So far, the state has recorded 95,646 positive cases and 1591 fatalities since the beginning of the second wave of the pandemic.
The current month reported 1315 new positive cases and 44 death cases out of which 407 new cases and 10 fatalities were added in the last seven days alone.
According to official reports, all the 39 new positive cases (28 male & 11 female) are from among the general population whose samples were confirmed at JNIMS (6) and other testing centres (33) .
The positive cases from among the general population are from Imphal East (14), Imphal West (20), Bishnupur (2), Kakching (1), Churachandpur (1) and Ukhrul (1) .
All necessary measures like containment and contact tracing are in place.
In the last 24 hours, 26 patients were discharged from home isolation (5), RIMS (1), JNIMS (5) and CCCs (15) .
The cumulative number of positive cases has reached 1,25,046 (general population - 1,20,623 and CAPF personnel - 4,423) .
Number of recovered cases is 1,22,383 (general population - 1,18,032 and CAPF personnel - 4,35l) and number of active cases is 698 (general population - 631 and CAPF personnel - 67) .
The recovery rate is 97.87 per cent.
A total of 594 D-type and 126 B-type Oxygen cylinders have been made available to different health facilities in the last 24 hours.
As per the official report, 5331 vaccine doses were administered on Tuesday which took the cumulative number of vaccinated individuals to 12,72,945 out of which 8,44,718 are fully vaccinated.
As per data maintained by The People's Chronicle based on IDSP and CCR reports, number of total cases in different districts are Imphal West (43,788), Imphal East (27,750), Thoubal (9473), Churachandpur (10,175), Kangpokpi (2785), Tamenglong (3283), Bishnupur (9199), Senapati (2241), Ukhrul (2987), Kakching (6427), Chandel (2354), Noney (1073), Tengnoupal (1075), Jiribam (1022), Kamjong (950) and Pherzawl (464) .
Fatality counts in different districts are Imphal West (654), Imphal East (469), Thoubal (176), Churachandpur (162), Kangpokpi (62), Tamenglong (14), Bishnupur (192), Senapati (10), Ukhrul (43), Kakching (113), Chandel (41), Noney (4), Tengnoupal (13), Jiribam (7), Kamjong (5) and Pherzawl (0) .
Data analysed by this daily shows that the rate of infection remains 40,298 confirmed cases per million population (based on projected population of 31,03,000 as per NCP report) against the national average of 24,688 CPM.
Test rate has improved to 4,54,215 tests per million population against the national average of 4,53,847 TPM.
Case fatality rate stands at 1.57 per cent.
In the past 24 hours, only 1888 samples were tested and the single day positivity rate was 2.07 per cent per cent while the cumulative positivity came down to 8.87 per cent.
