Public rally held

With a view to keep Moirang Municipal Council clean and as part of Swachh Surveksham programme under Swachh Bharat Mission, a public rally was taken out around Moirang Municipal Council today .
Organised by the Council, the rally was flagged off by Chairperson M Romibala Devi and vice chairperson M Basanta Singh from Mukta High School ground, Kokilbon Leikai .
The rally snaked through Moirang market, reached Moirang Lamkhai and wrapped up at Loktak Modern Fish market in Moirang Patlou Leikai .
Elected Councillors, elected ward members, Executive officer K Chandrakumar Singh, students, club members, NGOs, SHGs members, locals etc participated in the rally .
Pla cards and slogans on cleanliness and hygienic environment were raised during the rally .
Speaking to media persons, M Romibala Devi stated that the rally was organised to sensitize the people on cleanliness as well as to join hands in making Moirang Municipal Council neat and clean, as the Council is also included in the cleanliness competition which will be held in 2018 .
The 4041 towns in India, 164 in North East and 26 in Manipur will compete and the Moirang Municipal Council along with the people should work together in bring a clean and healthy environment, she added.
