Imphal, October 23 2019: A team of Lilong police, along with the assistance of All Lilong Anti Drug Association (ALADA) and ANJUMAN volunteers, arrested three drug peddlers along with a huge quantity of drug last night.

According to a senior police officer of Thoubal district, acting on specific information regarding the presence of some drug peddlers at Chingjao Mamang area under Lilong PS, a team of Lilong PS with assistance from the volunteers of ALADA and ANJUMAN arrested one drug user identified as Pusham Md Ali (20) s/o P Md Achouba of Chingjao Mamang from near his residence at around 10 pm and recovered/seized 50 Spasmo Proxyvon (SP) capsules from his possession.

From his disclosure, 2 drug peddlers were arrested from Lilong Dam Makha area and they were identified as Pusham Salman Hussain (27) s/o P Salauddin of Lilong Dam Mathak and Khullakpam Sarif Khan (22) s/o (L) Kh Nijamuddin of Lilong Chingkham Makha.

The team recovered 734 SP capsules from their possession.

As further follow up action, the team recovered another 14,513 number of SP capsules, 99 number of cough syrup bottles and 12 gms of heroin from the house of another drug peddler namely FM Aktar Hussain (35) s/o FM Habibur Rahaman of Lilong Haoreibi Mayai Leikai.

However, Aktar managed to escape, the senior police officer said.

A regular case has been registered at Lilong PS against the arrested persons under NDPS Act.
