Imphal, July 23 2020: The Mantripukhri and Keithelmanbi Battalion of 9 Sector Assam Rifles under the aegis of HQ IGAR (South) organised tree plantation drives at Yaingangpokpi Company Operating Base (COB) and Andro Company Operating Base (COB) respectively today.

The plantation drives were organised with an aim to raise awareness amongst the troops about the importance of a healthy, green environment.

A total of 465 saplings of multiple varieties mostly fruit, flower bearing and other saplings were planted.

The battalions had a dual aim of environment protection and soil conservation and also ensuring that it contributes towards making the society clean and green.
