AMNM demands pay for teachers of private institutes

Imphal, May 23 2020:
The outbreak of COVID-19 has affected every person globally, forcing nations to go on a lockdown.
As a result, all educational institutes have been shut for since the time lockdown was imposed in the country, and continue to remain shut, stated a press release issued by the All Manipur Nupi Marup (AMNM).
Teachers of private educational institutes in the State as well as the van/auto drivers providing services to these institutes are facing a hard time making ends meet as they remain unpaid for over two months.
In regard to the matter, AMNM has appealed to the concerned authorities to provide some sort of relief to the teachers and van drivers of private institutions.
It has suggested for 30 per cent of the salary to be paid to the teachers and an amount of Rs 2000 to be provided to van/auto drivers, it said.
