Kakching, April 23 2019: People's Museum, Kakching in association with Justice Committee on Anglo Manipur War, 1891 Martyrs and Freedom Fighters of Kangleipak paid floral tribute to Wangkhei Meiraba and 20 soldiers who died in 1891 at Manao Ching, Kakching district.

Speaking at the event as chief guest, MLA Y Surchandra said that the battle that took place at Kakching Manao ching on April 23, 1891 was one of the important ones.

Wangkhei Meiraba and the 20 soldiers under him lost their lives in the hands of the British soldiers who advanced towards Manao ching from Pallel, he said.

Curator of People's Museum, Kakching, Mayanglambam Gourachandra and chairman Justice Committee on Anglo Manipur War, H Ibotombi Khuman attended the event as functional presidents.
