TPR drops, 39 infected, recovery rate 97.89 pc

Imphal, November 22 2021:
After witnessing an upward trend for four consecutive days, the daily test positivity rate fell below 3 per cent on-Monday as government bulletins reported only 39 new positive cases out of 1527 samples tested with a positivity rate of 2.55 per cent registering a near 2 per cent drop from Sunday's 4.26 per cent.
Meanwhile, Monday reported no new fatalities and the total number of death cases remained at 1962 .
The active caseload came down slightly to 678 out of which only 44 (6.49 per cent) are in home isolation.
There is no updated information on bed availability in different hospitals and Covid care facilities.
Out of the 16 districts, only nine reported fresh Covid cases on Monday with Imphal West still reporting highest cases at 16 .
In terms of positivity rate, Chandel district recorded highest single day positivity rate at 9.5 per cent while Ukhrul district recorded lowest positivity rate at 1.7 per cent.
Jiribam, Kamjong, Kangpokpi, Pherzawl, Senapati, Tamenglong and Tengnoupal districts did not report any new positive cases.
So far, the state has recorded 95,557 positive cases and 1588 fatalities since the beginning of the second wave of the pandemic.
The current month reported 1226 new positive cases and 41 death cases out of which 440 new cases and 9 fatalities were added in the last seven days alone.
According to official reports, 38 people (17 male & 21 female) out of the 39 new positive cases are from among the general population and one from Central Armed Police Force (CAPF) whose samples were confirmed at JNIMS (10) and other testing centres (29) .
The positive cases from among the general population are from Imphal East (10), Imphal West (16), Thoubal (2), Bishnupur (3), Kakching (3), Chandel (2), Churachandpur (1) and Ukhrul (1).All necessary measures like containment and contact tracing are in place.
In the last 24 hours, 43 patients were discharged from home isolation (9), RIMS (1), JNIMS (6) and CCCs (27) .
The cumulative number of positive cases is 1,24,957 (general population - 1,20,538 and CAPF personnel - 4,419) .
Number of recovered cases is 1,22,317 (general population - 1,17,969 and CAPF personnel - 4,348) and number of active cases is 678 (general population - 612 and CAPF personnel- 66) .
The recovery rate is 97.89 per cent.
A total of 267 D-type and 46 B-type Oxygen cylinders have been made available to different health facilities in the last 24 hours.
Whereas, only 2229 vaccine doses were administered on Sunday which took the cumulative number of vaccinated persons to 12,70,396 including 8,35,172 fully vaccinated individuals.
As per data maintained by The People's Chronicle based on IDSP and CCR reports, number of total cases in different districts are Imphal West (43,748), Imphal East (27,719), Thoubal (9473), Churachandpur (10,174), Kangpokpi (2783), Tamenglong (3283), Bishnupur (9194), Senapati (2240), Ukhrul (2985), Kakching (6425), Chandel (2351), Noney (1073), Tengnoupal (1074), Jiribam (1022), Kamjong (949) and Pherzawl (464).Fatality counts in different districts are Imphal West (654), Imphal East (467), Thoubal (176), Churachandpur (162), Kangpokpi (62), Tamenglong (14), Bishnupur (191), Senapati (10), Ukhrul (43), Kakching (113), Chandel (41), Noney (4), Tengnoupal (13), Jiribam (7), Kamjong (5) and Pherzawl (0) .
Data analysed by this daily shows that the rate of infection remains 40,270 confirmed cases per million population (based on projected population of 31,03,000 as per NCP report) against the national average of 24,677 CPM.
Test rate has improved to 4,52,915 tests per million population against the national average of 4,52,182 TPM.
Case fatality rate stands at 1.57 per cent.
In the past 24 hours, only 1527 samples were tested and the single day positivity rate was 2.55 per cent per cent while the cumulative positivity came down to 8.89 per cent.
