Power supply resumes, Tamenglong comes out of darkness

Tamenglong, July 22 2014:
After more than two weeks of continuous total black out, electric supply has resumed in Tamenglong district from late last night.
The frontal civil societies of the district have expressed their gratitude to C.Arthur W, IAS Deputy Commissioner Tamenglong for taking up the issue with personal interest.
Warning that appropriate action will be taken against any defaulter among the public, Thomas Kamei, President of Zeliangrong Baudi Manipur appealed to the general public to use the power efficiently and pay off necessary bill regularly.
It may be recalled that the Zeliangrong frontal organizations including Zeliangrong Baudi, Zeliangrong Youth Front, Village Authority Chairmen Council and Zeliangrong Student' Union have been pursuing for regular power supply in Tamenglong district.
While appreciating the Deputy Commissioner of Tamenglong district for the resumption of power supply, Thomas Kamei reminded the DC of the earlier agreement and said that the civil societies will not remain silent if their demands are not met within the stipulated time.
In a meeting with the DC Tamenglong it had been resolved that 11 KV line from Kangpokpi would be arranged for ensuring Power Supply to Tamenglong within 5 days starting on 15th July last, and a 33 KV line from Jiribam will also be arranged within 15 days for Power Supply to Tamenglong and Nungba area.
It was further agreed that the bushing for Rengpang Transformer will be arranged within 30 days and Deputy General Manager (DGM)/EE Doren Singh would remain at the Tamenglong Station to look after the Power situation.
Following this agreement, Zeliangrong Baudi, Zeliangrong Youth Front, Village Authority Chairmen Council and Zeliangrong Student' Union temporary suspended their stir of banning national projects in Tamenglong.
