Muslim bodies demand removal of CoHSEM Chairman

Decrying expulsion of two candidates of the ongoing Higher Secondary Examination from Lilong Haoreibi College centre on Saturday, six Muslim bodies of the State, namely All Manipur Muslim Students' Organization (AMSO), Lilong Haoreibi College Students' Union, Anjuman, Manipur Muslim Online Forum, Muslim Students' Union of Manipur and Committee on Quality Education, Lilong have demanded the authorities concerned to remove the Chairman of Council of Higher Secondary Education Manipur (COHSEM) .
Talking to media persons at Manipur Press Club here on Sunday, President of All Manipur Muslim Students' Organization (AMSO) Md Farid Khan said that the expulsion of two candidates on false charge of using unfair means during the examination is quite condemnable.
The unfortunate incident at Lilong Haoreibi College happened because of the irresponsible act of COHSEM Chairman.
The two candidates were cleared of their charges by the invigilators and OC concerned, but the Chairman insisted on expelling them.
The COHSEM Chairman should be held responsible for the untoward incident happened on Saturday, AMSO President said.
He also sought clarification from the Joint Students' Coordination Committee for its "biased" remarks on the incident, and warned that all Muslim students' bodies of the State would snap ties with the JSCC if the latter fails to clarify within five days.
