Imphal, October 21 2021:
Stale government in association with different organisations on Thursday organised a thanksgiving programme in honour of Prime Minister Narendra Modi on achieving 100 crore doses of Covid-19 vaccination in the country with chief minister N Biren attending as chief guest at Phubala village in Bishnupur district.
Speaking at the programme held at Loktak Maru Harao Shanglen, CM Biren termed as a matter of pride for the country to achieve the 100-crore vaccination mark as it is not easy to inoculate such a huge population free of cost.
The milestone could be achieved due to the determination and vision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, he added.
N Biren said that even before a single case of Covid-19 was detected in India, the Prime Minister entrusted a team of scientists to invent vaccine for the Covid-19 soon after the pandemic broke out in China.
It is due to his far-sightedness that India could produce two vaccines on time and started vaccination early to save people's precious lives.
These vaccines are saving lives not only in India but also in many other countries, he noted.
Despite criticism from some quarters, the Prime Minister's initiative to clap for frontline warriors, ringing utensils and switching off lights earned great dividends in creating awareness about the virus.
It also made public to realise the importance of collective fight against the pandemic.
That's why PM Narendra Modi is known as the living legend for his innovative ideas, the chief minister asserted.
Regarding healthcare initiatives taken up by the government, the chief minister said that state government's CMHT and central government's Ayushman Bharat have given great benefits to the masses.
Now, people no more worry about healthcare to a large extent, he stated.
N Biren said that 'CM's Health for All' had been launched to provide health check-up facilities and primary treatment at people's doorsteps.
The schemes taken up by the present government which have benefitted many from the state are not a continuation of schemes of previous government.
This government believes that it will do things that are totally different from earlier governments.
To get more and more benefits from such schemes public must vote BJP back to power, he said.
N Biren further mentioned that the response he is getting from both hills and valley has indicated that BJP will again form the government after the next election.
To continue the peace and rule of law in the state, it is necessary the BJP continues to be at the helm of the affairs, he emphasised.
Earlier, CM N Biren inspected Health and Wellness Centre, Phubala, Covid-19 vaccination and issuance of CMHT and Ayushman Bharat health cards at the centre, oversee the implementation of Door To Door Screening of Primary Health Care, Management of Chronic Diseases and Covid-19 Vaccination Scheme under 'CM's Health for All' .
