State reports three deaths, 197 new cases

Imphal, September 21 2021:
The state on Tuesday reported three fatalities along with 197 new positive cases of Covid-19 out of 3002 samples tested, thus registering a positivity rate of 6.56 per cent against Monday's 8.75 percent.
Imphal East (10.3 per cent), Kangpokpi (8.5 per cent), Ukhrul (8 per cent), Imphal West (7.7 per cent), Churachandpur (7 per cent), and Kakching (6.9 per cent) districts recorded higher than the average positivity rate.
The active caseload came down to 2174 out of which 387 (17.80 per cent) are in home isolation, 716 (32.93 per cent) in CHICs, 685 (31.51 per cent) in CCCs and 386 (17.76 per cent) in hospitals.
Among the hospitalised patients, 77 are admitted to ICU/HDU wards with 112 on oxygen support and 25 ventilator support.
However, there is no report on number of patients on oxygen and ventilator support from JNIMS though it has 163 patients.
On the other hand, there are five patients on oxygen support in different CCCs.
As of Tuesday evening, 532 beds including 107 ICU/HDU beds are available in different hospitals but there is no updated information on bed vacancy in other facilities.
As of Sunday evening, 2785 beds were available in different Covid Care Centres and 399 beds (25 ICU/HDU) in district hospitals and CHCs.
So far, the state has recorded 89,470 positive cases and 1461 fatalities since the beginning of the second wave of the pandemic.
The current month recorded 4937 new cases and 53 fatalities out of which 1409 new cases and 20 fatalities were added in the last seven days alone.
According to official reports, the 197 new positive cases included 177 civilians (88 male & 89 female) and 20 personnel of Central Armed Police Force (CAPF) and their samples were confirmed at RIMS (4) JNIMS (35) and other testing centres (158) .
The positive cases from among the general population are from Imphal East (47), Imphal West (78), Thoubal (1), Bishnupur (3), Kakching (7), Ukhrul (5), Churachandpur (20), Chandel (l), Senapati (3), Tamenglong (4), Kamjong (1) and Kangpokpi (7).All necessary measures like containment and contact tracing are in place.
The three fatalities reported in the last 24 hours were residents of Imphal East (1), Ukhrul (1) and Kangpokpi (l) .
None of them had received Covid vaccines and one did not have any co-morbid conditions.
With this, the cumulative number of deaths from Covid in the state has reached 1835.In the last 24 hours, 203 patients were discharged from home isolation (56), RIMS (8), JNIMS (8), CCCs (125) and CHICs (6).The cumulative number of positive cases has reached 1,18,870 (general population - 1,14,610 and CAPF personnel - 4,260) .
Number of recovered cases is 1,14,861 (general population - 1,10,673 and CAPF personnel - 4,188) and number of active cases is 2,174 (general population 2,107 and CAPF personnel - 67) .
The recovery rate is 96.63 per cent.
In the last 24 hours, 980 D-type and 239 B-type Oxygen cylinders have been made available to different health facilities.
On Monday, 7287 vaccine doses were administered taking the.
cumulative number of vaccinated individuals to 12,15,215 which include 4,18,658 fully vaccinated individuals.
As of Monday, 1,05,241 eligible people are yet to get the second shot of the vaccine.
Meanwhile, three new positive cases were detected out of 62 samples tested in Kakching district on Tuesday.
One case was detected at Jivan Hospital and two at government RAT sites, according to District Surveillance Officer Dr Kesho Singh Moirangthem.
As per data maintained by The People's Chronicle based on IDSP and CCR reports, number of total cases in different districts are Imphal West (40,660), Imphal East (26,314), Thoubal (9285), Churachandpur (9969), Kangpokpi (2736), Tamenglong (3248), Bishnupur (8934), Senapati (2178), Ukhrul (2627), Kakching (6312), Chandel (2248), Noney (1057), Tengnoupal (1030), Jiribam (1015), Kamjong (824) and Pher-zawl (433) .
Fatality counts in different districts are Imphal West (610), Imphal East (432), Thoubal (168), Churachandpur (156), Kangpokpi (58), Tamenglong (13), Bishnupur (185), Senapati (8), Ukhrul (32), Kakching (110), Chandel (35), Noney (4), Tengnoupal (13), Jiribam (7), Kamjong (4) and Pherzawl (0) .
Data analysed by this daily shows that the rate of infection remains 38,308 confirmed cases per million population (based on projected population of 31,03,000 as per NCP report) against the national average of 24,005 CPM.
Test rate has improved to 4,10,888 tests per million population against the national average of 3,97,439 TPM.
Case fatality rate stands at 1.54 per cent.
In the past 24 hours, only 3002 samples were tested and the single day positivity rate was 6.56 per cent per cent while the cumulative positivity stands at 9.32 per cent.
