Kuki bodies cook up differing tales

Imphal, June 20 2025: In condemning the killing of Hoikhoilhing Haokip wife of Khaikhogin Haokip of Langchingmanbi, Churachandpur, the Kuki Inpi Youth Affairs and Kuki Women Union for Human Rights have struck diametrically opposing stand with the former maintaining that she was killed in a crossfire between security personnel and Meitei militants while the latter has alleged that she was killed by Meitei militants.

Kuki Inpi Youth Affairs and Kuki Women Union for Human Rights condemned the brutal killing of Hoikholhing Haokip, wife of Khaikhogin Haokip, the village chief of Langchingmanbi on June 19, 2025 at Langchingmanbi, Churachandpur.

Whereas the Kuki Women Union & Human Rights alleged that the Hoikholhing Haokip was fatally shot by Meitei militants, the Kuki Inpi Youth Affairs alleged that the woman was killed in a crossfire between Central security forces and armed Meitei militants inside her village.
