Imphal, January 20 2020: Meira Paibi Lups under the areas covered by Arapti Mamang Leikai Youth Club, has questioned how the equipment and chemicals, which are used in manufacturing drugs, have been found stocked at Arapti Komla Ingkhol.

Speaking to media persons at Manipur Press Club today, president of Arapti Mamang Leikai Komla Ingkhol Meira Paibi Wahengbam Sushila said that Thoubal police apprehended a drug peddler named Md Rasid Ali of Thoubal Moijing Awang Leikai on January 17, from Thoubal Tangjeng.

During investigation and questioning, Md Rasid revealed a name and the location where the equipment and chemicals used for manufacturing brown sugar were found, she continued.

According to the news, the newly nabbed person, identified as Md Abbas Ahamad, is the brother of Md Rasid and that the materials were seized from the Abbas's residence in Arapti Komla Ingkhol under Lilong PS.

However, Sushila clarified that the locals do not know any person by the name of Md Abbas and that he does not reside in the said area as Arapati Komla Ingkhol is situated under Irilbung PS and not Lilong PS.

She continued that the locals, clubs and Meira Paibis will not stay mum if any person from the locality is found meddling in manufacturing of the drug or any related matter.

Appealing the authority concerned to serve befitting punishment to the culprits, she maintained that the clubs and Meira Paibis will extend all possible help in any initiative against drug abuse in the area.
