Radheshyam espouses virtues of meditation

The golden jubilee celebration of Rajyogini Brahma Kumari SheelaBehenji, Sub-Zone incharge, Prajapita Brahma Kumaris Ishwariya Vishwa Vidyalaya, North East, Guwahati was held today at Marwari Dharmashala, Thangal Bazar.The function organised by the Association of Brahma Kumaris, Imphal was attended by Education Minister Th Radheshyam Singh as chief guest; Rajyogini Brahma Kumari Sheelaas special guest; Medical Superintendent, Shija Hospital, Langol, Dr S Jugindra; Dean (Academic), JNIMS, Prof W Gyaneshwar Singh as the guests of honour and president, Indian Medical Association, Manipur, Dr Kh Sulochana Devi as president.
Founder, Divya Jyoti Ashram, Changangei, Uchekon, Dr Ch Jamini Devi; vice-president, Manipur Mahila Kalyan Samiti, Dewlahland, M Pramodini Devi; Professor, Dept of Psychiatry, RIMS, Dr RK Lenin Singh; retd staff, MU, L Nabakumar Mangang and other officials from different professions were alsa present at the ceremony.
Addressing the gathering, Minister Radheshyam highlighted the importance of developing positive attitudes and good thoughts in our lives.
He appreciated the role of the Brahma Kumaris in creating a peaceful society.
He said that we should practise meditation not only for a healthy body and mind but also to attain 'parmatma'.
He also said that practising Raj Yoga meditation in our daily routine will act as a tool for creating positive effects on minds.
Stressing on the importance of karma and the need for good and positive actions for peaceful co-existence in our society, Brahma Kumari Sheela said that we are the children of one God and good karma will pave the way to a happy and balanced life in future.
Dr Jugindra who attended the seven days foundation course on Raj Yoga said that almost 400 staff of Shija Hospital benefitted from the education received from Brahma Kumari after completing the weekly course.
He said the Raj Yoga acts as a remedy for curing several illnesses like stress, high BP and increased sugar level in our bodies if practised daily.
He appealed to the Education Minister to take steps to spread awareness about the benefits of Raj Yoga meditation in schools and colleges for a better society.
Prof Gyaneshwar said that he used to follow the teachings and illustrations of Sister Shivani on Youtube to learn the simple ways of increasing positive energy of the soul.
As part of the function, a Khamba-Thoibi dance was performed.
It may be mentioned that there are nine branches of the Brahma Kumaris Ishwariya Vishwa Vidyalaya in Manipur and 18 wings including doctors' wing, educationists' wing, sports' wing, cultural wing and political wing.
