Locals of Singjamei denounce explosive planted in residential area

Imphal, September 19 2018:
Locals of Singjamei Wangma Bheigyabati Leikai staged a sit-in protest today at the premises of Youth Athletic Star Union denouncing planting of a hand grenade near the residence of former General Manager of Imphal Urban Cooperative Bank Gurumayum Tharaksana Devi.
The hand grenade along a warning letter were reportedly discovered at around 6 am yesterday and were picked up by the police later.
The locals at the sit-in strongly condemned the planting of explosive and said that it has created apprehension and fear among the people.
Stating that it is a residential area where the hand grenade was planted, the locals condemned the action of the unidentified culprits and said such act threatens safety of innocent civilians and children.
The locals appealed the concerned individuals/group to avoid such incident in future.
Meanwhile, the locals asked the concerned individuals/group to clarify why the explosive was planted along with the warning letter near the residence of retired GM of Imphal Urban Co-operative Bank at the earliest.
Speaking at the sit-in, Corporator L Inunganbi Devi of Ward No 18 stated that causing fear and havoc by planting explosive and threatening any person will never bring positive/desire solution.
She urged concerned individuals/group to avoid such incident which threatens lives of the locals/civilians.
