TSA Chandel clarifies on ALT allegation

Imphal, September 19 2015 : In connection with the demand of Anal Lelruwl Tangpi (ALT) that Lhukhosei Zou, Chairman ADC Chandel should tender apology for the misuse of Anal traditional shawl, Thadou Students' Association (TSA), Chandel has issued a clarification stating that Zou was just one of an invitees as a candidate during the ADC election function. In a press note, TSA Chandel said that Lhukhosei Zou had "nothing" to do with any arrangement on that day.

Calling ALT's allegation of "self-proclamation" as unjustifiable, TSA Chandel said the function was conducted as per Government of Manipur (Hills) notification issued on September 11. On promotion of education by Zou, TSA said the Chairman ADC Chandel maintained equally treatment in sub-division wise irrespective of tribes and communities and on up-gradation of upper primary schools, there was an adjustment according to the agreement with ALT leaders on April 10 last.

TSA appealed ALT to maintain peaceful co-existence in the Chandel District for all round development.
