CRPF clarifies

The office of the Commandant-86 Battalion CRPF, Lamphelpat, Imphal, Manipur, has clarified on the incident of the attack on one truck driver along the Imphal-Jiribam highway on December 13 .
A press release issued by Kalyan Singha, Commandant-86 Bn CRPF, said that on the night of the incident, at about 10.30 pm, one truck crossing in front of the night guard of the CRPF unit at Senhjang post signalled showing his finger and said some words in the local language which the non local sentry guard could not understand.
The guard asked the Coy Havildar to talk with the driver but before he could reach the post, one escort party of the IRB came and the driver went away after talking with them and as such the Havildar Major could not find the driver, it added.
The press release also clarified that the coy of the unit deployed along NH-37 and its men are performing their duties sincerely and attend to all the incidents which occur in their area of responsibility and will keep doing so in the future.
